iZombie ♦ Once Upon A Time ♦ Power Rangers R.P.M. ♦ Masters of Sex
In The CW’s hit drama series “iZombie,” Rose McIver stars as Olivia “Liv” Moore, a rosy-cheeked, disciplined, over-achieving medical resident who had her life path completely mapped out…until the night she attended a party that unexpectedly turned into a zombie feeding frenzy.
McIver was born and raised just west of the city of Auckland, New Zealand. She got her start in acting when her older brother was scouted for a short film called “The Joker,” and she played his infant sibling. Establishing herself as a child who could behave on set and remember lines, she began to get more roles.
Her first significant role was at the young age of 3, where she played an angel in the Oscar-winning movie “The Piano.” McIver went on to pursue acting while at grade school and, during school holiday breaks, she would book small roles in local films and television shows. At 16, she landed the lead in a television series called “Maddigan’s Quest.” After that, she juggled school and work for her final two years of high school.
McIver’s recent television credits include playing Vivian, the daughter of Provost Barton Scully, played by Beau Bridges, and Alison Janney’s character, Margaret on the critically acclaimed series “Masters of Sex,” the beloved character Tinkerbell on the hit series “Once Upon A Time,” and starring in the Lifetime original movie “Petals on the Wind,” a sequel to the highly rated “Flowers in the Attic.” On the big screen, McIver starred in the film “Brightest Star” as Charlotte, the romantic lead opposite Chris Lowell.
Other film credits include the multi-award-winning film “The Lovely Bones,” directed by Peter Jackson, starring opposite Mark Wahlberg and Rachel Weisz, and the independent film “Blinder,” starring opposite Jack Thompso and Anna Hutchinson.
McIver is based in Los Angeles, but often goes back to New Zealand, which she also considers home.
